Send signature reminders
When you send a document for e-signature and someone hasn't signed yet, you can send them a reminder. The reminder re-sends the original signing request by email, with the same signing link, to everyone on that document who still hasn't signed. You can do this from Attio or from DocuPotion, whichever you're already in.
Send a reminder from Attio
- Open the record the document was created from, and click View documents (or open the DocuPotion Documents widget).
- Find the awaiting document at the top of the list. It shows its signing status, for example "1 of 2 signed · waiting on michael@tinycorp.com".
- Open the row's actions menu (the ⋮ on the right) and click Send reminder. Everyone on that document who hasn't signed yet gets a fresh email with their signing link.
How often you can remind
You can send one reminder per document every 24 hours. Inside that window the button is disabled and shows when you'll be able to remind again (for example, "You can remind again in 22h"). This protects your signers from being over-emailed, and protects your account's sending reputation.
The 24-hour limit is per document, not per screen: if you send a reminder from Attio, you won't be able to send another from DocuPotion (or vice versa) until the window passes. Each document also shows how many times it has been reminded, for example "Reminded 2x · 3d ago", so you can see at a glance whether a signer has already been chased.
What the signer receives
The reminder is the same branded DocuPotion email as the original request, with a "Review and sign" button linking to the same signing page. Signers do not need a DocuPotion account, and the link works until the document is fully signed.
Troubleshooting
- The Send reminder button isn't showing: reminders only appear while a document is awaiting signature. Once everyone has signed (or a signer declines), the button goes away. This is the same in Attio and in DocuPotion.
- "A reminder was sent recently": you're inside the 24-hour window. The button tells you how long until you can remind again.
- "Everyone has already signed": the document was completed between the page loading and your click. No reminder was sent because none was needed; refresh to see the updated status.
- A signer still isn't receiving it: ask them to check spam, and confirm the address in the run history is correct. If an address has previously bounced or marked DocuPotion as spam, it is suppressed and won't receive further emails.
